Sydney-based Smac Studio has emerged in recent years as one of the design world's most captivating interior practices, renowned for infusing residential spaces with deep emotion and courageous materiality. Their portfolio regularly graces the pages of international design bibles, including Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Vogue Living.
Smac Studio excels at employing natural stone to carve out strong spatial identities. They harbor a particular affinity for rare Italian luxury marbles sourced directly from historic European quarries. From kitchen islands and home bars to custom vanities, portals, and cabinetry, each slab introduces an unrepeatable tapestry of veining and mood.
While some of these stones remain rare across Asian markets, Smac Studio seamlessly weaves them into effortless everyday backdrops—transforming kitchen counters and bath vanities into conversation starters during family meals and quiet morning rituals.

藍色羅馬
Featuring a striking blue base laced with copper-gold veining, 藍色羅馬 boasts iconic visual recognition. Here, the integrated vanity engages in a dialogue with organic mirrors and refined hardware, infusing daily rituals with quiet luxury. While bold at first glance, it integrates seamlessly into real-world interiors—achieving balance across minimalist, warm Italian, or classical residential schemes.

Calacatta Viola
In this lounge setting, Italian Calacatta Viola takes center stage as a custom bar facade. Through stacked volumetric techniques and precise proportioning, the material elevates the spatial texture while maintaining perfect visual harmony.

超級水晶
Sourced from rich geological deposits in Brazil, 超級水晶 is a premium natural granite/quartzite featuring broad expansions of crystalline quartz. It reflects a clear, translucent luster that expands visual horizons without overwhelming the space. Paired with reeded cabinetry and minimalist lines, this integrated vanity transforms a functional cleansing area into a serene daily sanctuary for reflection.

Statuario
Statuario remains a classic, versatile Italian marble. Applied here to a transitional hallway portal, its veining frames an arched doorway against pure white walls—naturally extending lines of sight while preserving an open, flowing layout. This broad yet restrained application brings architectural elegance to diverse residential scales.

Michelangelo
The central island features Michelangelo, characterized by rich gold, amber, and charcoal veining. Unlike traditional monochrome Italian white marbles, it presents a dynamic, painterly texture reminiscent of expressive brushstrokes.
Despite its rich detail, the stone avoids feeling busy on kitchen surfaces—introducing a warm, grounded atmosphere instead. As sunlight sweeps across the veining, with fresh fruit resting on the counter and dinner simmering on the stove, the island becomes a living anchor where family gathers to cook, converse, and share everyday life.

Emerald Green Series
Wrapping the kitchen walls and countertops, this deep Green Natural Stone radiates calm and composure. Paired with aged bronze hardware and warm white base cabinets, it establishes a rich dialogue between materials while adding sophisticated visual layering.

Vatican
Since ancient times, purple has been revered as a regal color—and remains exceedingly rare in natural stone. Sourced from ancient Carrara quarries, Vatican is a prized rarity featuring a white canvas laced with bold violet veining. Historically reserved for sacred spaces including the Vatican itself, it stands as a true icon of luxury stone.
In this residence, Vatican forms a continuous integrated vanity. Juxtaposed against soft blush plaster walls and warm brass sconces, the stone’s raw geological tension finds a delicate, harmonious balance.
When designers dare to explore, natural stone ceases to be an unreachable luxury—it becomes a living material that genuinely enriches daily life. These extraordinary marbles, currently making waves across Australian interiors, are now available for direct curation at CHENHOW MARBLE.
